VR-02 Pro 2 Viola Pickup with RJAplus Jack Pickup (Passive)
The VR-02 offers unparalleled reproduction, range and clarity of sound all wrapped up in a high quality Superieur Despiau "two tree" maple bridge. There is no false 'fatness' of sound to this series of pickups; they will give you everything that your instrument has.The response is sweet from the bottom end right up to the top. The pickup has excellent volume, great bottom and mids.and overall, a sweet, even response. It has been tested and proven over nearly thirty years in production.
The VR-02 Pro 2 combines the VR-02 in-bridge pickup with an RJAplus jack and volume control assembly providing a complete solution for the viola.
The passive VR-02 Pro 2 works perfectly well and sounds good when plugged straight into any decent quality guitar amp. As with any pickup, the sound can be further enhanced with an outboard preamp. Note that a preamp will be needed for use when plugged directly into a mixer or P.A. system.

A highly efficient piezo element is built into a Despiau B model bridge. There is no acoustic degradation or loss of normal acoustic tone or volume. All VR-2 models are in 4/4 size and fit a normal full sized adult viola.
The ultralight RJAplus jack is a small, low profile clamp on jack assembly with a volume control built into the jack body. The output takes a standard 1/4" plug so that you can use a normal guitar cable. The complete jack assembly with clamps weighs only one ounce.
