P2 Pickup for Piano

Due to the size and construction of pianos, it was felt that the best balance and accuracy of sound reproduction could only be achieved by using two separate transducer sensing units.

As with the hammered dulcimer pickup system, Schatten Design has taken the incredibly responsive "dual element system" and applied it to the piano pickup to give an unsurpassed response and a faithful, natural, sound quality.

The P2 pickup system mounts quickly and easily to the underside of the soundboard on grand pianos and to the back of the soundboard on uprights with supplied double sided tape.

Each transducer unit contains 2 separate piezos working in tandem to enhance sound quality and reduce the possibility of feedback. The units are strongly built and measure approximately 2 3/4" in length, 1 1/2" in width, and 1/2" in thickness.  Each transducer is pre-wired to a 10 foot shielded Mogami cable with a heavy duty 1/4" output plug for stereo configurations. For Mono applications, a 1/4" 'Y' adapter is included.

The system has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp.
