Uke Pickups

Speaking of RoboUke last week, we thought we’d take the opportunity to remind you that we have a couple of options in terms of pickups for them courtesy of our good friends at Schatten Design.

The obvious choice is the Uke-1 series; launched in 2014 it rapidly became *the* pickup of choice for discerning musician. It utilises a special polymer cable piezo element for a full, rich tone. The pickup is designed to be used with a preamp, either as one of the Active endpin jack preamp versions or for those who prefer an outboard preamp, the Player passive version can be combined with a Mini Pre belt-clipable preamp. You can check it out here: https://www.sandarac.co.uk/ukulele/73/uke-1-ukulele-pickup/

The alternative is the LP-15 series of soundboard pickups. Built using a new patent pending process the LP-15 series pickups are less than one sixteenth of an inch thick (1.25mm). The pickup sensor itself is extremely light in weight, coming in at less than 2 grams, and does not inhibit soundboard movement or vibration. May Day Bank Holiday Opening

With many of you popping in for our open house last Saturday we are disappointed that we will be unable to do the same for you tomorrow.

That said, we will be open by appointment on Saturday for instrument try outs and other purchases. Please note that we will not be able to fit pickups or restring instruments for you that day.

We will be closed all day on Sunday.

However, on Bank Holiday Monday we be open from 10am-4pm so feel free to pop in, no appointment necessary, to try instruments, have pickups fitted, instruments restrung, browse to your heart’s content, or simply pop in for a chat with one of our experts. See you there!
