Speaking of RoboUke last week, we thought we’d take the opportunity to remind you that we have a couple of options in terms of pickups for them courtesy of our good friends at Schatten Design.
The obvious choice is the Uke-1 series; launched in 2014 it rapidly became *the* pickup of choice for discerning musician. It utilises a special polymer cable piezo element for a full, rich tone. The pickup is designed to be used with a preamp, either as one of the Active endpin jack preamp versions or for those who prefer an outboard preamp, the Player passive version can be combined with a Mini Pre belt-clipable preamp. The alternative is the LP-15 series of soundboard pickups. Built using a new patent pending process the LP-15 series pickups are less than one sixteenth of an inch thick (1.25mm). The pickup sensor itself is extremely light in weight, coming in at less than 2 grams, and does not inhibit soundboard movement or vibration.
