Galli Strings

For today’s #ThrowbackThursday post we’re taking a look at the history of Galli Strings.

The Galli Musical Strings Company was found in 1890 by Tommaso Galli.  Originally Galli’s main production was of natural gut strings.

In 1950 Tommaso’s son, Roberto, started to work in the firm. He built on his father’s expertise but brought his own talent to the art of making strings.

The 1970s saw the first innovations of the production process with the introduction of (what was then) technologically advanced machines.

In 1985 Tommaso, Roberto’s son, joined the company and saw the firm through its centenary.

The company has continued to evolve with the full automation of the manufacturing process. In addition to strings for a much wider range of instruments, Galli branched out to produce accessories.

From 1890 many things have changed but one thing hadn’t the first aim of their company: to make the best strings. Galli has brought three generations of experience and understanding to improve their products and, possibly even more importantly, to understand musicians’ needs.

Here at Sandarac we are delighted to be working with another European leader in their field and to include Galli strings as part of our range of affordable quality products.
