Mom and Pop

Today’s post builds on some of last week’s as, although it’s an American holiday, we think it’s important to highlight all the #MomAndPop businesses out there; ours included.

#MomAndPopBusinessOwnersDay promotes recognition of the critical role that small businesses play in the economy. Small businesses support their local communities in ways larger ones don’t and internet-based giants certainly don’t.

The US holiday encourages everyone to go out and support a small business today and reminds them that these businesses are there in their community. We think that spirit should be adopted here too. Otherwise, when things are finally allowed to get back to “normal”, all that will be left on our High Streets will be phone and charity shops with a few retail giants thrown in for good measure.

International “Be Heard” Day

Today is International “Be Heard” Day

No, this isn’t about speaking or singing but about celebrating small local businesses – like us!

It gives us the perfect opportunity to remind you that we are a small, independant, bricks and mortar company (albeit with a webshop – finally!) proudly dealing with some of the finest luthiers in Europe. We are especially fortunate in that, unless you go direct to the luthier, you can only get these instruments from us in the UK.

Similarly with our wonderful Schatten Designs Pickups – available only through us or our approved outlets in the UK & Ireland (buyers beware of internet imitations!).  Add to this our stunning Consoisseur Collection – not forgetting that in Southpaw Central you have the single largest dedicated collection of European-made, hand-crafted, guitars for the left-hander – and you can see why we can count some of the world’s best musicians as our clients.

We are Sandarac – hear us ROAR 😉
