We know it’s not practical for a lot of you to call in and pick up your orders. But, with another rise in postage costs forecast for April, it’s definitely worth weighing it up; especially if your round trip can be done on a gallon of fuel.
What’s more, if you give us a quick call before popping in we’ll be happy to stay open late or open at the weekend to accommodate you. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’s tea, coffee, and biscuits available for all our visitors. What’s not to like?
With warm summer nights still the norm at the moment we’ve had more visitors popping in on the off chance during the late afternoon.
As we use local services, the Post Office in particular, it’s worth bearing in mind that – when there’s only one of us in – The Old Dairy will close so we can post your orders.
This is one of the reasons why, especially if you’re travelling any distance, we ask you give us a quick call if you’re planning to visit us; particularly so if you think you’re likely to arrive mid to late afternoon.
The other reason we ask for advance notice is so that we can contact our luthiers and get specific instruments for you should we not have them in stock currently.
Finally, whilst our opening hours are fairly consistent – opening 9-9:30 in the morning and closing between 5 & 6pm – we are happy to open earlier and close later to accommodate you; just give us a call. The same applies most weekends.
As Sandarac is run by musicians for musicians we understand that you cannot always get to The Old Dairy during our regular opening hours.
This is why we offer out of hours opening by appointment. Just call us, message us on Facebook, or use the Contact Us form on our website and we’ll sort something out that’s mutually convenient.
We also recognise that being situated on the Essex/Suffolk border means we’re not in the most convenient location for many of you to visit.
For this reason we offer a deposit and drop scheme whereby you pay a deposit on the instruments of your choice and have them delivered to your home, or to your tutor, to try for a couple of days. Please note: this service is only available on certain days to avoid our instruments being gigged and returned.
Again – simply contact us, tell us what you’d like to try, and we’ll organise everything for you.
