It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were celebrating having a full range of Dupont gypsy guitars in stock. Less than a month later and The Old Dairy is beginning to look a bit empty again in certain sections as the MD50, MDC50, and Busato Royale have all gone to new homes.
If you would like to try the Busato Luxe we strongly recommend booking an appointment as soon as possible as we have already had a few people express interest in it.
If you would like to try any Dupont guitar please call us in advance as we can get most instruments in from Maurice with a couple of week’s notice.
Virtually all of our guitars could be considered for a #ThrowbackThursday post as they are made in the traditional way; the way guitars have been made for centuries.
However, today we’re featuring a slightly different traditional skill; the inlaying of shell.
Although better known for his gypsy guitars, Maurice Dupont creates some stunningly artistic shell inlays such as the one shown in the picture. Each piece of shell is carefully prepared and shaped with different shells being selected for their colours and figuring.
Contact us if you’d like information on price as this very much depends on the base instrument and the amount of work involved.
