MusikMesse 2015

musikmessefrankfurt2015We’ve spend the last couple days pounding the halls, meeting with principals, and seeking out the new and interesting things for you.

It was great to spend time with our dear friend and master craftsman Maurice Dupont as well as two generations of Sanchis Lopez on the HSL Centenary stand; brothers David and German together with father, 3rd generation master craftsman, Ricardo Sanchis Carpio.

In terms of instruments, we are not planning to add to our family of luthiers at the moment as we are still waiting for our final Connoisseur Collection guitar from Andreas C…z (we cannot use his full surname due to profanity filters). We did, however, see plenty of Ukes from many different countries – including the UK – which, when challenged, turned out to be made in China. There were one or two European luthiers making them but these come at a significantly higher price than the £10-50 Chinese ones – we even saw one company with a suggested RRP of £8 :-O  We will, therefore, be driven by customer demand; if you want quality, hand-made, European Ukuleles and are prepared to pay an appropriate price for them (we’ve seen them at RRP of £250+) then tell us and we’ll stock some. So over to you…  visit our facebook page and tell us what you think –
