RIP Sir Terry Wogan

Having lost six musicians in four weeks the entertainment industry is again the poorer for the loss of one of its legends. Sir Terry Wogan wasn’t a musician but did do very well with his version of the Floral Dance.

Born in 1938, Wogan came to prominence in the 60s and went on to present a wide variety of programmes ranging from the Eurovision Song Contest, to Blankety Blank, to Come Dancing (the predecessor to BBC Strictly Come Dancing) and, more recently, BBC Children in Need.

The BBC has an obituary here which is being updated regularly as tributes come in.
