To celebrate International Jazz Day there will be a global concert in Melbourne featuring over 30 world-renowned artists Including Herbie Hancock, James Morrison, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Kurt Elling.

The good news is that there will be a free webcast of the concert on www.jazzday.com, www.unesco.org, YouTube, and Facebook at 3pm GMT today.

Advance Notice

With another Bank Holiday weekend on the horizon we thought we’d remind you that The Old Dairy will only be open by appointment during the weekend.

Please call us by close of business Friday to book your appointment to try an instrument.

Please note: we haven’t done a Cognac run recently so we have a limited supply of Dupont guitars currently in stock so, if you’d like to try one of those, please call us as soon as possible so that we can contact Maurice and see if we can get them shipped.

Get Organised Day

Way back in January we shared a number of tips to help you organise your music and music room.  A few months on and Get Organised Day gives you a chance to look back on how you did and identify those areas on which you could improve.

It’s worth remembering that the one thing you can never get back is time so when you’re considering how much time it would take you to get organised just think of all the time you’ve wasted in the past trying to find that one piece of music, your spare set of strings, your picks. etc.  Or worse, trying to remember if that show is later today or tomorrow only to find it was yesterday :O

The fact this falls on a Friday this year means that, whilst this is the spur for you to start, you have time over the weekend to tackle those niggly jobs.  Why not start with those “filing” systems that really amount to nothing more than a place to put things, and sort out what’s in there?  Who knows what you might find 😉
