Social Media Day

Social media seems to be everywhere these days. Though the days of social media pioneer Myspace are now long gone, we’re constantly hearing about trending topics on Twitter, laughing at social media fails, and many people are obsessive about keeping up with their Facebook news feed. Even if Facebook and Twitter aren’t for you, there’s still blogging, Snapchat, Instagram, and even LinkedIn, along with many others. Even businesses have recognised the value of social media for connecting with customers and selling their product, as well as quickly updating users about problems affecting their service.

So how best to celebrate Social Media Day? The answer is obvious! Let your networks know and spread the knowledge. Start a hashtag, upload a photo, update your status. You certainly won’t be alone as social media is still spreading like wildfire all over the world. Whatever you do, wherever you are, don’t forget to celebrate #socialmediaday!

Scorchio ☀️

The weather has certainly been hot out there recently. It’s been interesting how many of the visitors to The Old Dairy have commented that it’s nice and cool inside.

In fact, it’s not that cold in here, we simply aim to keep the showroom at a relatively constant temperature and humidity for the benefit of the instruments.

As always, we recommend you take extra care of your instruments. This is particularly important if you have instruments using kiln-dried wood rather than the well-aged, traditionally seasoned, woods used by our luthiers.

Keep your instruments out of direct sunlight and away from hot humid areas. Keep your instruments in their cases as much as possible and ensure you dry out the silica gel packs we include regularly.

We’ve done several #WednesdayWisdom posts in the past on caring for your instrument during this weather. Just click on ‘Posts’ to the left and enter humid in the search box to find them.
