Set-Up
The way in which a bowed instrument is set up is critical to the quality of sound produced and how easy the instrument is to play. The profile of the fingerboard, string height, the nut, bridge, string type, tailpiece and the sound post all have their part to play but it is the way in which they work together that is important. This is unique to every instrument and is what makes the set up procedure such an interesting challenge.
At Sandarac, all component parts of an instrument are checked against specification. Using the scientific principles of modal analysis we ensure that all component parts are working together to produce the best possible sound, both in terms of projection and tonal quality. Once these parameters have been achieved, the instrument can be further tailored to ensure string height and fingerboard profile is adjusted to meet individual customer's requirements.
The Sandarac attention to detail offers a service, second to none, ensuring that your instrument is set up not only to your personal satisfaction but also providing the confidence that each instrument is made ready to deliver to its full potential.
In addition to free set-up and 12 months warranty each new instrument is eligible for a free service at the six month point. However, for that extra peace of mind, we would advise that specialist musical instrument insurance should always be considered (See below).
